Violence against women crosses all socio-economic levels, age, groups, races, religions and countries. Despite the increased attention to the issue and many positive developments in policy and practice, violence against women is still widespread and has not led yet to a common European educational approach. PACT intends to fill this gap by providing educational and vocational counselling services and training for staff members of different institutions that actively work in the support chain for women survivors of violence with special focus on those staff members who care (and deliver informal learning) for the survivors of violence in the most critical and vulnerable situations such as trainers, teachers, police staff, social workers in public administration and NGOs.
The training will support them
– to develop and improve their knowledge about DV
– to develop skills on how to cope with situations of DV
– to increase awareness of the varied forms of abuse and the implied consequences on the victims and on the society
– to learn how to assess the risk in an abusive situation
– to share their knowledge with and learn from others
– to build a larger European network with complementary expertise
The main objective is to sustainably improve the support chain of women survivors of violence with the main purpose to support a larger number of women survivors of violence all over Europe.
To this end a comprehensive training approach consisting of blended learning elements will be developed, tested and disseminated. The use of ICT will promote the exchange of experience on a European level and provide support to the various stakeholders.
The project’s main outputs are:
– Design and tool kit for training aiming at promoting the improvement of intervention models and the collaboration and networking among stakeholders
– Implementation and documentation of pilot training
– Good practice examples for successful intervention and cooperation
The product development is complemented by awareness-raising activities among stakeholders in various educational fields in Europe.
