ENGIM Piemonte is a VET organization located in Turin, north west of Italy. Its main activities have always for young people and their initial vocational training since the late XIX century, to provide competencies which can enable them to be able for the labour market.
ENGIM is one of the main training organizations for initial vocational training in Piemonte region. For young people only, it has 20 training courses for a total of around 400 learners.
Lot of activities are related to job insertion: the recently introduced dual system, apprenticeship, work-placements both in Italy and abroad, participation to local contexts, other projects aimed at working insertion.
In order to provide updated competencies we have recently engaged in a series of activities parallel to the “standard training” and which are often financed with our own resources such as a 3d printer laboratory, a bar open in the afternoon for adult and evening learners, a workshop where learners repair electronic objects/small household electrical appliances, a restaurant. All these activities allow students to have a working experience in a safe environment and, at the same time, experiencing real clients and real money which is then used for training activities.
Lots of actions have been developed also in the field of adult education and for several targets: migrants, unemployed people, companies and local authorities.
The main fields of training are: environment, ICT and communication, management and social care.
The organization is part of several networks in the field of young people education, adult education, ICT, Energy and environment and sustainable mobility where ENGIM is in charge of post-diploma and post-graduate courses. The networks involve other educational organizations, companies, universities, research centres and local authorities.
During the years ENGIM has also developed a know how in e-learning and content management system developing on-line courses and providing tools for distance learning using web 2.0 tools and devices.
There are 5 Engim branches in Piemonte for a total of around 200 employees and more than 2000 learners.
