Sience and methodology center for Agricultural education of Ukraine “Agroosvita” (SMC “Agroosvita”) was established under the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine in 1997 with the aim to coordinate, improve and unify scientific, training, and methodological support of higher education institutions in the field of agriculture at a higher and qualitatively new level. In 2012, SMC “Agroosvita” was reorganized, but the goals and objectives of the organisation remain the same.
The SMC “Agroosvita” is a state scientific educational institution and acts as a bridge between higher educational institutions and ministries. We are in constant contact with all Ukrainian agrarian universities, colleges and other educational establishments. The team of “Agroosvita” works on the improvement of agricultural higher education and science in Ukraine: the
elaboration of higher education standards, curricula, training courses, textbooks, and manuals;
research and recommendation on agricultural education and educational systems; dissemination
Improving skills in laboratory practice for agro-food specialists in eastern Europe /Ag-Lab/Page 25 of 94 of pedagogical innovations and new teaching methods; publishing of periodicals; and
participation in international education and research programmes. Currently there are 164 people
employed at “Agroosvita”.
SMC “Agroosvita” has a wide network of contacts in Ukraine and Europe. It includes educational and scientific institutions, extension services, agricultural enterprises, cooperatives, NGO’s etc.
Our organisation is an associate member of the Association for European Life Science
Universities (ICA), and the Global Consortium of higher education and research for agriculture (GCHERA), as well as organiser and active participant of many international projects, events, conferences, and exhibitions.
