Born out of the need to create spaces for empathy, intercultural dialogue and purposeful community engagement, “WE Organization” is a young social initiative aims to develop several projects targeting different segments of the society in order to tackle xenophobia, build bonds & promote social inclusion.
At “WE are THE REFUGEES”, During WE speeches and presentations (at Universities, Companies, NGO’s, and Schools all over The Netherlands), we strive to raise awareness about the Refugee-Crisis in Europe; seeking to foster tolerance, battle stereotypes, challenge the narratives, and encourage mutual understanding and effective communication between the newcomers and the local communities.
What did Syria look like before the war? What’s going on there nowadays? Adel speaks about the journey he went through fleeing his homeland, and the life he lives now in The Netherlands. He shares a self-recorded video displaying life in a Dutch Refugee Camp, followed by an interactive Q&A session with the audience.
At “WE are THE ELDERLY”, we facilitate social ‘get-together’ events for and with the Dutch elderly, aspiring to convey cultures through food, music, and entertainment.
At “WE are THE LABELS”, we bring people together across age, gender, race, sexual orientation, income, culture, and religion. We share real-life stories of those who have been negatively labeled by their societies, in order to reveal the real human side of them. WE Organization had recently the honor of speaking at TEDx.
