Clarity is a two-year project, funded through the Leonardo “Transfer Of Innovation” programme, starting on 1st October 2009.
The project will create new training resources, to support basic work-related training in migrants’ own languages:
Train migrants to become trainers in their own languages (Clarity A)
Translate and test existing training courses in the migrant languages (Clarity B)
Own-language delivery will not replace the need to learn the host country language. Clarity offers the chance to engage migrants with low second-language abilities, to promote training to a new target group, and to satisfy legal requirements. Many migrants do not participate fully in the opportunities of their new country, due to lack of language ability. Clarity will offer a simple, own-language starting point, and so provide a “stepping stone” towards further training and competence development. We want the courses to include good information about further training (languages, workplace-related, and cultural).
