There are numerous EU funding programs – but we also need the appropriate know-how to get a funding. This is difficult especially for small and atypical adult education institutions that have little or no prior experience in applying for funding.
A partnership led by CONEDU aims to make it easier for those instistution to access centralised EU programs by providing an information pathway as an online tool for professionalization – Path2EU4AE. The project outcome will enable these institutions to assess the benefits and requirements of EU programs for projects and international cooperation and to decide in which cases a program is suitable and promising for the institution.
The main outcome of the project will be a well-designed and coherent information pathway that will be available online. It will help adult education institutions to find suitable EU programs and to assess which programs fit the needs and requirements of the institution. Based on the institution’s needs and goals, the pathway will lead to appropriate EU programs for the institution and provide basic information about the programs by simply „clicking through.“
This should better enable adult education providers to submit successful project applications, participate in the European community and contribute to European adult education policy. The information pathway will be established not only for adult educators within the partnership, but also beyond. It will be freely accessible (OER – Open Educational Resource, CC BY) on a large adult education platform (https://erwachsenenbildung.at). The lead partner CONEDU is the publisher of this platform and will together with the partners disseminate the resource through links and other contributions on EPALE.
Collecting and documenting the needed knowledge and developing the information pathway will strengthen the competence of the institutions involved in the partnership to further access EU programs and networks. This will enable them to create relevant content for many other adult education institutions as well. Thereby the priority „Improving the competences of educators and other staff in adult education“ under the Erasmus+ program will be suported. Furthermore, the project intends to contribute to professionalisation beyond the partnership, especially for project managers in adult education institutions , as it will be freely accessible online for all adult educators and disseminated by the partners. Thus, the project also supports the ET2030 priority „Supporting teachers and trainers“. All in all, the project will help to attract new and inexperienced adult education institutions to participate in EU programs, creating new networks and international collaborations for innovation. It will promote a European identity of the participating institutions and individuals.
