In response to the increasing number of young drug users committing crimes the ReWIND project is focused on the research of best practices in rehabilitation treatment for young drug users in prison and seeks to refine and consolidate an integrated system of interventions, involving the professionalism and the ability of public and private services, for purposes of re-education and/or rehabilitation.
The target group that will directly be addressed by the ReWIND project is:

Activities
- Define and characterise the specific needs of young drug using offenders
- Use the results of the best practices which have been implemented so far
- Create, share and transfer an innovative rehabilitation and re-integration program for young drug using offenders
Outcomes and results
The global and long-term result of the project in hand is the creation of an innovative 360-degree program for rehabilitation and re-inclusion involving not only young offenders and drug users, but also the families as central actors in the process of rehabilitation and post rehabilitation or detention to avoid the “fallout”. This global aim will be achieved by the following tangible results:
- Research report on national best practices in rehabilitation of young offenders using drugs
- Vademecum Rehabilitation and Reintegration Program
- Pilot testing for validation of efficiency and effectiveness
- Guideline for Multipliers in order to engage stakeholders on different levels
