RIVET – Responsibility in internationalization of Vocational Education and Training
The European Union is committed to a green and inclusive economy and Member States want to deliver on the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Goals (SDG). Putting our societies on to a sustainable path is a shared responsibility and action is needed from all, including public authorities, civil society, private sector, academia and each citizen. VET has a prominent place in the Agenda: Equal access to affordable, high quality VET is one of the targets, together with a commitment to substantially increase the number of youths and adults with the relevant skills for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship by 2030.
With the project RIVET (2022 – 2024) seven vocational training institutions from Portugal, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and Serbia have joined forces to undergo a peer review process related to internationalization strategies.
The partner organizations will focus on the definition of sustainability criteria in the development of internationalization strategies of VET institutions in order to ensure more responsible environmental, social and governance practices. To this end, the peer review method, which has become increasingly important in VET quality assurance systems, was chosen for the development of the entire project.
The aim of the RIVET project is to take a step towards a more responsible internationalisation of VET by getting more organisations to include sustainability in their internationalisation strategies. To achieve this goal, the following project outcomes are aimed:
- Report about state of the art of internationalisation and responsibility aspect in partner countries
- Criteria and indicators catalogue for social, environmental and economical responsibility in internationalisation of VET
- Digital self-evaluation tool for social, environmental and economical responsibility in internationalisation of VET
- Learning material for peer review methodology application for social, environmental and economical responsibility in internationalisation of VET
